Now that we're closest to being able to manipulate and communicate with our brains digitally using technologies like Neuralink. It's important to know the basics of the brains and how it came to be the way it is, so we can prepare for the good and the bad.
An ordinary, sad, unforgettable life.
I wouldn’t say I’m a sci-fi fan in general, I do read them but not really crazy about any book. Until I read this one. Hard science book beautifully written with just the right amount of humour. Literally read it in one session over a long night!
I can’t remember if this was the first Carlo Rovelli book I’ve read, but since the first book I have been a fan of his work. Never thought physics can be so poetic and beautiful. It’s so human and yet so bizarrely cosmic.
I switched between audiobook and paper when reading this one. It’s so funny I had to pause to laugh a few times, and before you know it, you find yourself tearing up because everything is so real to a point it’s actually heartbreaking. HUGE respect for NHS after this book. No words, just read it.
I came across this when strolling in Foyles Charing Cross, I rarely buy hardbacks but after reading a few pages in the bookshop I just couldn't say no to it. But once you have the basic understanding, all kinds of stories start to become clear how they are constructed and why they work.
To be honest I cannot say why I love this book so much, but everytime I see the cover, or in some random moments I get taken back to the story... Maybe it's the story, or maybe it's the hot summer in Spain.
Read this book when I was trying to get into the head of actors. What I didn't expect that happened was it actually gave me the ability to understand stories in a more visceral and direct way.
One of the best books on startups.
